Right way to write?
Good morning. There are many ways to write. Is there a right way to write? Ahh! This all depends more on you than experts whose advice flows thicker than molasses. How so?
As new writers, we are encouraged to talk to more experienced writers, asking them about how they think we should get our novel under way. Seems like a first-class idea. And so it is. Now for a word — or two — of caution. Ask ten writers for their thoughts on how to best approach your new novel and, most likely, you will end up with at least ten mini-volumes of pointers by which you can navigate to the final full stop. All this is well intentioned and given in the spirit of sharing. On the whole, you will find willing helpers at every step along the way.
You can see why I have to remind myself to be myself. There is no universal method that suits everyone or that is guaranteed to lead to success. It is what is inside us that promotes success. Take the advice and filter your notions through it. Your emotions and creativity are the key elements underlying your finished work. Trust in yourself and believe that success is as much about you as about any system or method championed by gurus.
Enjoy the process. Take early progress at a steady pace. We wish you every success in your writing. If you want to join in the conversation, comment below.
